Bird's Nest

There is a perfectly formed bird's nest in the tree next to my deck. My dog is going crazy with it constantly trying to get to the tree, either through the railing or from the ground. She stands on the deck pointing to the nest. Wonder what she'll do when the eggs hatch.

We were sitting out on the deck and mama bird was missing for a long time. After cooking on the grill, the bird still hadn't come back so I was afraid we scared her off. But when I went out to put the grill cover back on, she was sitting on the nest. Of course, my putting on the grill cover scared her off again.

So blue!!!! Is it a Robin or something else? How cool. My friend had birds for the longest time build a nest in the wreath on her front door every spring.

she probably won't abandon her egg, just scared of the human things going on. I am sure that when you guys leave the area she is more comfortable, beautiful egg. Be sure to grab a pic of it when it hatches?!

It's not a robin, but the eggs are very blue. But the bird, the little bit of her that I can see, is a dark brown with a white spot. There are three eggs in the nest and we are watching them. I had to move the grill to block the nest from the dog, but that annoyed her today when I cooked on the grill. The smoke went over the nest and Mama bird fled. She comes back when we leave the deck area.

My neighbors down the street also have a bird that builds a nest in the wreath on their front door. Scares the heck out of you when you ring their doorbell and a bird flies out of the wreath!!

Jason asked me last night if he can throw worms into the nest after they hatch. We'll post pictures of the baby birds when they hatch.

What a great shot; it's full of beauty. I hope we have a little series of updates here as we are now on BirdWatch.

Take care,

Awesome. Today at lunch I went home and noticed that a bird had built a nest in my hanging fern. There are 4 little cream eggs with brown spots. Like you my dog is crazy about this. I have been so excited about this all day:) Any idea what kind of bird...
